Puncture marks on an Oreodont skull

I recently started preparation on this Oreodont skull I found in the summer of 2019. After a few hours of prepping, I noticed something weird...

Puncture marks!! This skull has two big holes in it that aren't supposed to be there (see the second picture). These puncture marks were caused by the canines of a carnivore. Probably by a Hyaenodon to be more exact, since the puncture marks are quite close together compared to the size, this matches very well with the narrow snout of a Hyaenodon.
