I found this jaw on the side of a hill in a lot of pieces, in this picture you can see the state of the jaw before prepping. I put this jaw together by first separating and cleaning every piece individually and piecing them together. Unfortunately, almost all the teeth in the jaw were gone. Except for one exceptionally well preserved unerupted molar.

It's very cool to see an unerupted tooth in an Archaeotherium jaw. Because just like most other mammals, Archaeotherium only replaced its teeth once as it was growing towards adulthood. This is basically the same as the tooth replacement in humans. The fact that this tooth was unerupted also means it hadn´t been used yet by the animal. This is seen by the amazing details the tooth provides, as seen in the picture.

After cleaning every part and piecing them together, this is what the jaw looks like.
