This page is dedicated to the preparation of fossils. When we find a fossil in the field the preparation begins. A fossil can be very fragile, it can be on the surface and broken in many pieces or it can be enclosed in sandstone or rock. The removal of the fossil must be done carefully and as much information as possible must be gathered. The goal of the fieldwork is to get the fossil and corresponding information into the workshop. In the field, the fossil is preserved, not prepared.

How you prepare the fossil can depend on the goal. In a museum, complete articulated skeletons are displayed. It is very rare to find a complete animal, so in the preparation field, a lot is added. Incomplete bones are restored, and cracks are repaired in such a way that they are invisible. On the other hand, for scientific research, it is important to prepare the fossil is such a way that all the details are visible and that the fossil is as original as possible.

Our goal is to keep the fossil in an original state as much as possible. We prepare our fossils in such a way that they are preserved and that the quality does not degrade anymore. We also make sure everything is reversible.
